DoDonPachi DaiOuJou is a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up where players, in the role of pilots, must stop a revived robotic army led by the ultimate weapon, Hibachi. After a previous war, the remnants of this army were sealed on the moon, but they eventually reawaken 1,000 years later and attack the human lunar colony of Lunapolis. Players select one of several ships and fight through stages, with special versions of the game featuring a second, more difficult loop after the first is completed.
